Cataract Self Evaluation Test
The term cataract refers to a cloudy lens within the eye.
When a cataract is removed, an artificial lens is placed inside the eye to take the place of the human lens that has become the cataract.
The decision to treat a cataract is reached by Dr. O’Day and the patient together. This decision is based on the degree to which the cataract is impairing vision and the effect of the impairment on the patient’s quality of life.
IOL technology has evolved rapidly during the last decade, and cataract patients may wish to discuss with Dr. O’Day their choice of IOLs. All types of IOLs offer improved vision after cataract surgery.
