Dr. Tonya Castro, OD specializes in Optometry, and has over 12 years of experience in the medical field. She received her undergraduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Castro went on to graduate from State University of New York – State College Optometry with her Optometrist degree in 2004.
As a Doctor of Optometry (OD) Dr. Castro is qualified to examine eyes for both vision and health problems, diagnose, and manage correct refractive errors by prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses. Dr. Castro can also provide treatment and manage diseases and disorder of the visual system, the eye and associated structures as well as diagnose related systemic conditions. She can prescribe medications to treat eye diseases and perform certain surgical procedures. Dr. Castro can also do testing to determine the patient’s ability to focus and coordinate the eye, judge depth perception, and see colors accurately.
